A few years ago I created Art With Meirav with the intention of redefining the way we teach and facilitate art to kids and adults. I wanted to remove the emphasis on materials and medium and shift it towards expression, experimentation and exposure. Expression of self or feelings, experimentation with unusual materials and methods, and exposure to art techniques and mediums that are usually only taught to more advanced or specialized artists.
In my own work, I find my process is not linear and I often don’t know what the outcome will be. I find beauty in the unknown and unfamiliar, especially when it seems scary or confusing. Hopefully when people see my art they not only see the physical process I went through, but the intellectual and emotional process I grappled as well.
I am Los Angeles based artist, graphic designer and art teacher. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in fine art and graphic design. I have experience as a sculpture/installation artist, graphic designer, art camp director and high school art teacher.
